Mind is formed from the body, memory, and intelligence. The body contains more memory than the mind can recall, for example, the physical genetics you inherit in your looks. Your brain cannot recall or know your genetics of what is expressed in your physique as defined in "Yoga".
Mind plays a role of thinking. We observe our thoughts and react to it, also called as intellect or consciousness. There are many thoughts which arise in our mind which lead us in the wrong direction because we are not aware of what is real and unreal. For example we also say "there is something going on in my mind". Which means that I am thinking, it only exists in my mind whether it's right or wrong, true or false. I'm not aware of it.
Similarly, in our life in real sense we always face these challenges like ' I think he/she is cheating me' or 'Nobody likes me'. We are just making such statements which we ourselves are not sure whether that person is really cheating me or not.Our mind is based on past event which is just a memory its not related to present. It happens that the mind is ruled by past thoughts and with that past experience we behave according in our present as we are scared that this has happened in our past the repetition goes on. We always mistakes our thoughts with somethings which is not real.
Today we see many relationships end because there is no proper clarity in thoughts, lack of trust which ends up in doubts. Something goes wrong with us. We blame other people for that due to our past experience our mind is still in the past. The discrimination of what is real and unreal at that moment is still in doubt. Our one thought can change the situation. We make such statements which can hurt others emotions or we land up taking wrong decisions to which our intention was not there.
This mind leads to kleshas such as ignorance, wrong knowledge, ego, attachment, hatred, fear. This is just a one factor to psychological disorders like anxiety, depression, confusion. There are a lot of things going on in mind to which our mind commands one particular thought which we react to.
We can overcome these toxic and past thoughts with the help of meditation. Meditation takes you closer to spirituality which helps to discriminate between real and unreal which is an important factor in yoga. One should have strong faith in destiny to begin his spiritual journey of self improvement. This spirituality creates a positive aura which can give tranquility of the mind. It helps to replace negative thought into positive. Cultivating feelings of friendliness, compassion etc instead of hatred and jealousy and trying to understand each other, also respecting their point of view.
If you rise above all mental modification then you can control your mind from hindering the past and letting go which can be done through meditation.
